Free Sowa Rigpa Medical Camp held during the 50 Years of Sikkim Statehood celebrations at MG Marg Gangtok on 9 th & 10th May, 2025
The 90th birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama celebrated on 6th July 2025.
The NCISM NEET SR 2025 exam for the BSRMS (Bachelor of Sowa Rigpa Medicine and Surgery) course held on 27th July 2025.
A 10-day medical excursion was conducted from 17th to 26th August 2025 at Lachung, led by external expert Gen Dawa Lawa, which included a two-day seminar on medicinal herbs for the faculty and students of Sowa Rigpa.
CME Program: Four members of Faculty of Sowa Rigpa travelled to Ladakh for a 5 days Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on 8th & 13th September 2025.
2025-26; new batch of 5 students joined /enrolled for the Bachelor of Sowa Rigpa Medicine and Surgery (BSRMS) course on 1st October 2025.
A one-day seminar on “Sowa Rigpa Pathology “was conducted on 18th October 2025.

An Awareness Program on Pharmacovigilance was held on 8th December 2025, organized by the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), Gangtok, to sensitize Sowa Rigpa students and faculty on drug safety monitoring in the AYUSH sector.
Two days free medical camp was held at Lachung on 8th& 9th December 2025.

International Day of Yoga 2025
The International Day of Yoga 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and active participation at Paljor Stadium on June 21, 2025, in alignment with the global movement to promote holistic health and well-being through yoga.
This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth One Health” , emphasized the role of yoga in achieving balance between individual well-being and collective harmony. The event began at with 5:30 AM and concluded at 8:00AM.
The highlight of the program was a guided yoga session conducted by yoga instructors. Participants, including students, faculty members, performed meditation techniques, promoting physical flexibility, mental clarity, and inner peace.
1st and 2nd Professional Bachelor of Sowa Rigpa Medicine and Surgery (BSRMS) students participated in the event actively under the assistance of two Assistant Professors while the 4th Year BSRMS students along with the rest of the staff members participated in the event organised by the Head office ,Namgyal Institute of Tibetology,Deorali .
The celebration of Yoga Day served as a meaningful reminder of the ancient Indian Tradition of Yoga and its relevance in modern life.
The overwhelming participation and positive feedback highlighted the community’s growing awareness of health,mindfullness and sustainable living.
World Cancer Day Observation - 4th February, 2025
In observance of World Cancer Day 2025 themed United by Unique, the Faculty organized an expert talk session to the audience of Students, faculty members and the other departmental staff of the Institution on 4th February, 2025.
The talk was delivered by our invited Resource Speaker Dr. Ashish Rai, Head of the Oncology Department, STNM Hospital, Sochagang. It was an interactive and informative learning opportunity for the students and those attending as the talk focused on the topics of disease treatment, personalised care and healthy lifestyle advice followed by a Q & A session.
The session concluded with thank you notes by the L&D committee of the Faculty of Sowa Rigpa and traditional Khatag offering as a token of thanks by the Administrative officer of the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology.
